Process Explorer keeps on crashing all the time. Most of the time it crashes without any errors but the errors it does show, looks like this.
I'm using Windows 10 22H2 and Process Explorer 17.02 running as administrator.

Does it only crash this way when running as an administrator (elevated)?
Does it crash with default settings? Rename (and/or export) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sysinternals\Process Explorer with regedit.exe, to back up your settings. Run Process Explorer again. It should start with default settings. If that solves the problem, we can review the settings.
While a memory dump would be most useful, will you share one or more application error events where Process Explorer is the faulting module? Run the following from PowerShell and share at least a couple events, if any are found:
Get-WinEvent -FilterHashtable @{ LogName = 'Application'; Id = '1000' } |? Message -Match 'module name: procexp' | fl
If none are found, then we will likely need a memory dump to make progress. Thanks!
Here's the events for the crashes.
I think it might be related to this driver because once it installed, the crashes are happening much less but they still happen.
I'm trying it with the default settings now.
I’ve kept it open for 2 days. There are no crashes when using the default settings.

@john stephens I have the same problem except for the error messages. I don't get error messages. I'm running procexp on windows 11 22H2 home with admin rights. I restored the default settings and it stopped crashing. Then I changed the settings back and it started crashing again. I made the following changes: show lower pane, show tray icons I/O history, disk history, network history, physical memory history. It seems to me when I type wsl into <filter by name> it crashes soon after. I have the view sorted by cpu usage. Reinstalling did not help. Could you help me out please?

I upgraded from v17.02 or even v17.04 to v17.05

Uninstall and reinstall Process explorer.
Can you stop posting generic cookie-cutter answers which are low quality, of which their outdated, inaccurate and incomplete information, causes users to make their windows environment worse whilst counter-intuitively serving to detract from other volunteers? If someone is posting here, then it's safe to assume that they've probably done the obvious like "reinstall it" or "search google for the answer".
It's not just a case of shifting the burden of downvoting bad answers on the user, as when other people find this question via Google and find answers like yours, it can potentially make their windows environment worse. Also other people will assume that the OP's question was already resolved if it already has answers to it, rather than be empty with none.
It seems like there's lots of people posting low quality answers to Microsoft forums on learn.microsoft.com and answers.microsoft.com, in the hope that if they are noticed by Microsoft staff to be routinely helping others whilst exhibiting a high post count and high accepted answer percentage, that they'll be given an MVP badge, which will then help them negotiate a higher salary when applying to work in the tech industry, as in India and other countries, there's a lot of tech jobs derived from outsourcing. Just because someone else managed to do it 15 years ago, doesn't mean that everyone else can do it, as it's much more competitive nowadays, it's saturated.
