Cannot create new simple volume after deleting USB partition

Using Windows 11 Pro 64Bit
I have a 64GB USB stick that was previously formatted. I think it was formatted to 32GB using FAT32. I wanted to convert back to using all 64GB. After using Disk Management to delete the partition I clicked on "New Simple Volume". Nothing happens. After a restart it worked fine. This has happened a half dozen times with different USB drives so I'm guessing that this is a bug in Windows 11. A restart should not be required.

    Hello

At present, no similar problems have been found in the general problems of Windows 11 system:

Try to update the system to the latest version, and check whether there is an event log corresponding to "create new simple volume" in the event view.

    Hello there,

I would suggest to check if there are anything pending updates or update getting failed to install as this might cause this.

Some users may have encountered the "New Simple Volume" greyed out issue or requires an restart while trying to create a partition on unallocated space on a local hard drive or external USB drive.

Generally, due to the two limitations on MBR disk, it stops you from creating a new volume in Disk Management:

There are already 4 primary partitions on the disk.
The MBR Disk capacity is 2 TB and you cannot create new partition beyond 2TB.

Convert MBR Disk to GPT and see if that helps.
