Looks like the issue is caused by authority or network.
For authority, are you using any proxy(I suggest you also contact M365 support here: Microsoft 365 support)? For network, is it possible for you to change to use another network for testing?
Besides, since Visual Studio Code is currently not supported in Microsoft Q&A forums, for technical support about VS Code, I suggest you post this question on Stack Overflow - VS Code.
