Can an anti-virus or windows defender prevent some files from being published to the web?

Hello Community,

When publishing a website from Visual Studio, is it possible for windows defender, and/or any other anti-virus to prevent some DLL files to be published to the web, alongside web.config, aspx and aspx.cs files?

I doubt anti-virus or defender is the problem. Most likely you've done something goofy with the project references if the DLL files are not within the bin folder when publishing the project. What DLL files are missing? NuGet packages?

It's not really a project; just a website. When creating new, I chose website from the file>new>create website. So I don't have reference in there. Just Bin folder.

Besides I creared a new websitemail and took extra care to make sure all Nuget Packages were installed. Then I tested the website, with the code that generates pdf with image rendering and it works...I them published the website to a host server and tested it online; the pdf downloaded but images were not rendered.
I don't really know if it could be from the iText7 version I installed in the website, as it's rather an old version - in the Nuget manager it stayes there that it's a deprecated tool then when I tried to installed the latest version, it was not compatible with my framework, which is 4.5.2. But the pdf generated code works in local server.

Your first post questioned if DLLs were being blocked. Did you check? Are DLLs missing? If so, which DLLs are missing?

I doubt the iText7 library is causing the issue. The most likely cause is a bug in your code. Your other post on this subject shows code that has quite a few potential issues.

That's why I asked in that post if you know how to write the code that renders texts and images in pdf and which will not have issues. That will be very helpful to learn and I will be very much grateful.

I'm confused... Do the DLLs exist on the host or not?

Also, you said the code works on the develop machine and works for a around 5 hours (or at least once) on the host. So the code does work. The issue must have something to do with the host environment and how the code works in the environment. Does the SQL query return a record or records? Is the data expected?

You need to troubleshoot your code as I can't. I do not have your database.

You mentioned that there are potential issues with my code, which was why I asked if you can write one that actually renders texts and images in pdf. If you can't..then it's okay
