Deploying Company Portal for Windows devices via Intune

Hello,

I'm trying to find out how should I deploy Comapny Portal to end users.... Almost all guides that I've found recommend using "MS Store for Business".... However, when I log in there, I see that "Microsoft Store for Business will be retiring in the first quarter of 2023." so looks like there is a "better" way to deploy it? :)

I've tried to create 2 Apps policies:

  1. MS Store (New) - found company portal there and assigned to test group. However this is failing to deploy it with "Error 0x0 Unknown"
  2. MS Store (Legacy) - seems to be fine but there is only option to "Available for Enrolled devices". I can't see "Required" to have it pushed automatically to all end users. I can see Company Portal app in Company Portal web and can install it from there... but want to get it installed without user interaction.

How to deploy it then? As MS store for business is going to be retired soon?

@michal Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

Not sure the specific date that MS store for business will be retired. The retirement of the Microsoft Store for Business is planned for Q1 of 2023. This date is subject to change. Currently, you can still use Microsoft Store for Business to deploy Company Portal app.

For more information about this change, here are some links can be references:

For MS Store (New), it is a new feature in intune. For such general error code, it is suggested to create an online support ticket to check from backend and find the cause. Here is the support link:

    Thanks for your understanding.

MS Store (New): This is the new set of functionality we released two weeks ago that is intended to fill the gaps when we retire the Store for Business and Education in Q1. For your issue using this, have you reviewed the IME log (within the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs folder)?

MS Store (Legacy): This is older functionality that is basically a deep link to apps in the store that thus just launches the store. This cannot be set to required as it requires user interaction and the user having a personal Microsoft account.
