Old server was windows 2012 and everything worked perfectly fine. I have about 3-5 Sitefinity websites using .net 2.0. I was forced to upgrade very quickly to a newer server. No problem, I wanted to do that anyway. Windows 2022 with IIS 10.0. DB attached, IIS set up. .net 2.0 set up for those specific websites. I have them 32-bit. I've added the isapi v.20 stuff (although I tried to run the script and it didn't work). And I am still getting this error. The website uses the old Sitefinity CMS so there are no static pages. I need help please. I have gone through several blogs and Q&A. Either it is completely greek to me or I followed the steps and it is not working. I know that once I can get one website figured out, the others will be a snap to get to work as well. HELP!!!

I suggest you use the failed request trace to see the detailed error message.

I fixed it myself. I installed the missing .net stuff under the the Add/Remove Programs, rebooted the server, and everything started working. I am not saying that adding the missing isapi stuff didn't help, but the other stuff really made everything working again.

As this question is about installing and o/s support of a third party iis handler. You should contact the vendor

But I would assume you did not install the application correctly. Being so old it’s probably an isapi filter so may need to manually create the mappings
Thank you Bruce for replying. A few things with your answer. First, Sitefinity was installed on my workstation leaving the server with only the website's instance. This was Sitefinity 2 or 3, so yes a VERY old version of Sitefinity. I have moved this website from server to server over the past almost 16 years with not a problem; however, the last server was Windows 2012. That was around 2015 (give or take) that this website was put on there and had been running perfectly fine even with all of the windows updates and whatnot installed. I had to upgrade and decided to run with Windows 2022 with all the newest versions of .net and whatnot.
The server did not have the .net 2.0 isapi stuff installed. I mapped it the best I knew but I did not install or run any program. This sitefinity is definitely .net 2.0. I have server also running the .net 2.0 with 32-bit enabled. So I can only assume a .net 2.0 website will run on this server. All of my "regular" websites that have static files are .net 4.x. I have been meaning and trying to get my clients to upgrade their websites away from Sitefinity. I don't know if I will be able to do so; however, I really need to get these sites up for nothing more than just to access the content and layout of the website so I can archive it so I can build anew. There is one that has over 800 blog posts that I MUST restore as soon as possible...even if nothing more than just to access them in the DB or something so I will have the text content.
Any recommendations? BTW, the last link you provided doesn't work.
THIS IS NOW RESOLVED. Be sure to install all the Windows .net stuff and it will start working again.
