Reserve capacity vs reserve instance

Hi..

Is different between sql reserve instace and reserve capacity? How we can know which model of our exsiting sql server?

Also its true if we buy use reserve instance example for 3 yerars, we pay upfront for 3 years and no monthly bill?

    Correct.
    That is what the documentation says, and my experience confirms it.

    Sorry, I tried to find a customer whom I have access and might take a screenshot that contains both VMs and DBs... but unfortunately, I don't have access to those customers' portals.
    I can only show you a filled list with VMs.

    Yes and no, there is no real difference in reserved instances compared to reserved capacity. The main difference is in the naming; both means you buy upfront computing power for your data...

    reserved instance = a virtual machine (with SQL Server)
    reserved capacity = a SQL database/MI (as a service)

    According to Microsoft documentation you can choose between yearly and monthly payments:

    You can pay for a reservation up front or monthly. The total cost of up-front and monthly reservations is the same and you don't pay any extra fees when you choose to pay monthly. Monthly payment is available for Azure reservations, not third-party products.
