Our application (a HR management tool) is hosted on Azure. We've been experiencing performance issues for an extended period and believe the way the environment is configured may be the cause of this. We are looking for support in identifying and resolving the issues. Our user base is pretty small (roughly 2000 users across 100 accounts) but we experience drops in speed on a regular basis, our app dev has done a good amount of work to optimise the application leading us to believe the environment is the issue here.

@Daniel Miner Can you please verify what Azure product is hosting your application? There are Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Web Apps, and a number of other products where your app might be hosted. This is the first step that is important to address.

Since you tagged this as an Azure Web App issue, we will provide you steps on how to proceed troubleshooting for that product. We suggest that you start with the "diagnose and solve problems" blade within your web app.

    1. navigate to portal.azure.com
    2. Select your web app
    3. Select the "diagnose and solve problems" blade
    4. Locate the performance issues section and follow the prompts to scan your web app for any recommendations.

See here for more information on this built-in troubleshooting tool.
