Could you please tell us what version of Office 2013 are you using now?
There are 2 versions of Office 2013.
One is volume licensed version which uses MSI installation technology, such as Office Professional Plus 2013, Office Standard 2013.
Another one is retailed version which uses C2R installation technology, such as Office Home & Student 2013, Office Professional 2013.
- For the MSI versions of Office, it would follow the steps of Windows to check updates. More information please refer to "Update Office with Microsoft Update". So, the frequency depends on how often Windows checks for updates.
- For the C2R versions of Office, there is a scheduled task named āOffice Automatic Updates X.0ā (X.0 means the version, such 2.0) on the computer on which Office is installed that checks for updates on a regular basis.
Please enter "Task Scheduler" in Search box, go to Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Office, find the "Office Automatic Update X.0" at right panel. You may find its working time in Trigger.
What's more, no matter which versions of Office 2013 you are using, checking updates does not mean that there would be updates got, as getting updates is affected by many factors, such as region, network, etc. There may be a delay in getting updates.
