Word to PDF does not keep 3D model‎ in the PDF

I have inserted a 3D Model into Word (an .FBX file) and I can rotate the model in Word, but when I save the file as a PDF, the ability to rotate the model is lost in the PDF - it becomes a static image.
Do I have to do something in particular before exporting/saving the Word file to PDF to retain the 3D model viewing capability?

PDF is a completely different format that is not native to Microsoft Office. After exporting your document to PDF, you can add 3D models using Acrobat Pro (the full program, not Acrobat Reader). Here is Adobe's page on how to do this: Add 3D models to a PDF page (Acrobat Pro)
