Hi,

Current CU on our SP2016 farm is Sept 2019 and we planned to install CU July 2020.

Is there any issue if we jump from Sept 2019 CU to July 2020 CU?

Thank you.

No issues, you can skip PUs (2016+ are called Public Updates rather than Cumulative Updates).

You should look to patch to Sept 2020. Microsoft guidance is to patch monthly and there are some remote code execution vulnerabilities that were fixed between July and Sept 2020.
