API to Store wired network profile

Is there no API for storing Wired Network profiles in Windows ?
The link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/nativewifi/wired-profile-samples indicates i should use netsh only.
However for Wireless network profiles there is a API https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/api/wlanapi/nf-wlanapi-wlansetprofile

If not present, any history or reasons for this ?

    The document doesn't show the reason why there is no API to set LAN profile but there is no API to set LAN profile in fact.
