Files not Uploading

I recently purchased the personal version of 365 that afforded me 1TB cloud storage. I'm a photographer I bought it specifically to maintain copies of my picture files in the cloud. Using the online version of OneDrive I uploaded my entire "Pictures" directory to the Cloud, about 200Gb. To make a long story short some of the files made it but most didn't. All of the directories appear to show up properly but many are empty. Clicking on the little OneDrive icon it says "your files are synced." Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the answer to my question but I've given up on OneDrive and am cancelling my MS365 subscription. The more I used it the more I realized it wasn't what I was looking for. I'm going to more localized backup on my personal NAS.
