As the title states, i have admin access and am trying to install the sdk in order to get some debugging done on this machine. I keep getting errors from windows: 0x80090009.
The account i'm using has full control permissions.
The logs seem to be showing a permissions error, at least according to any information I can find online that's remotely relevant:

this is caused by partial install. delete all .net core sdk msi in the folder you are running the install from. but to put in a clean folder.
also .net 5 is out of support, you should probably be installing a supported version, net 6 LTS (recommended) or net 7
I'd love to install 7.0 or any of the others, i just picked the version closest to the version I'll be targeting with our software, after the first one failed.
I'm running the install from the desktop, there are no other folders in there, unless you mean the folders in Package Cache?
After deleting all the folders in package cache, and trying with .net sdk 7.0.100, i come up with exactly the same error. setup failed -- 0x80090009 invalid flags specified, and the log looks identical to the one i've posted.
As instructed, deleted msi from old location, put in new folder. No luck, same error, log looks the same.
