Teams is owned by your organization, as such admins can deploy retention policies to keep messages for specific duration and remove them when needed, policies that detect offensive content and so on. If you want to be in control, use something else.
Microsoft teams is deleting my messages without my knowledge!
So to be completely honest I have this chat with a girl that I look back on a lot.
Please I want to know why my messages are being deleted in some sections and some not.
Help.

Agree with michev, Teams admin can use retention policy to manage the information in your organization. By default, Teams chat, channel, and files data are retained indefinitely, unless there is an attempt to delete the content via retention policies, user deletes, admin deletes etc.
