Unable to create user defined table type in Azure synapse dedicated sql pool

Hi,

Iam unable to create a user defined table type in Azure Synapse dedicated SQL pool.

Iam facing below error.

I don't see user defined table type folder in dedicated sql pool.

Does Dedicated sql pool supports user defined table types? else do we have any alternative for this.

From API, we will be getting list of data that needs to be captured and store in DB.

The CREATE TYPE (User-defined Type) is not supported in Azure Synapse SQL. Please refer to the public documentation which calls out the supported services.

Thank you @KranthiPakala-MSFT for the information. We need to capture bulk data that is sent by API team. If User defined table type supported in Synapse SQL Pool, we would go with this. But do we have any alternatives which does the same activity.

Hello @Sambasiva ,

After having further conversation with internal team, a possible workaround is to use temporary tables. This limitation and workaround is being called out in this documentation: Workarounds for unsupported data types - Table data types for dedicated SQL pool (formerly SQL DW) in Azure Synapse Analytics
