Yes, I installed it earlier, but then I uninstalled it
but now when I want to install it sends me this error

It may work better if you select the option Download Media. If nothing else, once you have downloaded it once, so you don't have to do that on every attempt.

In C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\160\Setup Bootstrap\Log, there are plenty of log files. As start upload summary.txt and details.txt. No promises that we will figure it out. I know that I have seen this error before, but I don't know if I have been to understand what is going on.

Strange. Any older folders with that file?

You said that had uninstalled older instances, but according to summary.txt you seem to have a couple of them.

I don't know, maybe it wasn't completely uninstalled. But now it won't let me install it

It looks like something didn’t remove properly when you uninstall SQL.

I'm afraid that I don't have any direct solution for you. But it seems that something on your machine is out of whack, possibly something related to the MSI service.

Maybe you could try to run a repair on your OS. Else it may be that be that you need to flatten it and start over.

Or just give up and install SQL Server on a virtual machine.

Hi,

I had a similar problem once because the path to my installation files was too long (but not too long decompressing to a folder based on a long iso file name in the downloaded files folder was enough).
Try to shorten the path to your installation files and try again.
