Windows Media Player randomly stops playing when multiple mp3 files are chosen

Windows 11 Build/Version 22H2 build 22621.963

If I use File Explorer and select a number of mp3 files, then right-click one and choose "Play with Media Player" then WMP (new version, not legacy) opens, and plays the tracks one by one.

However, every now and then it stops playing, meaning that it finishes one track, moves to the next but doesn't play it, just as if I'd paused it. This only ever happens at the start of a track, and clicking the play button sets it going again.

Anyone any idea why it does this, and how to fix it?

Thanks

Reset WMP and check the issue.

Open Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > From Apps list locate Media Player > Click on 3 vertical dots > Advanced options > Reset

Thanks for the reply, but it didn't help. I reset Media Player, but it still does it.

Just playing a .wpl, and it's stopped several times, waiting for me to click the Play button.

    Any other ideas? Thanks again
