New-CsOnlineApplicationInstance fails

I registered a bot channel and linked it to Teams. Now I'm trying to do New-CsOnlineApplicationInstance , however this fails with error:

New-CsOnlineApplicationInstance

UserPrincipalName is invalid or the domain does not belong to the tenant.

  • CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (:) [New-CsOnlineApplicationInstance], InvalidOperationException
  • FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Hosted.PlatformService.ApplicationInstance.NewCsOnlineApplicationInstanceCmdlet
  • PSComputerName : admin1e.online.lync.com

I'm using the same UserPrincipalName that was used to create the bot and have verified the tenant id and that the domain is verified in Azure.

Any idea what can be causing this error ?

    @Charl ,

    According to the error message, the root cause seems still focus on user principal name.

    Please note that the user principal name should have an online domain.
