Installing OOB alone create an issue?

Question

According to procedure. we should have installed the Nov Patch Tuesday patches + OOB patch in 2012/2012 R2 servers. but in our case we have installed OOB alone by mistake. Will that create the authentication issue?

My Team member said we faced authentication issue on few servers and uninstalling OOB fixed it. Will that be a case?
