Platform:
Windows server 2019 (group policy manage console)
User client: Windows server 2022 server or Windows 10 Machine

Shortcuts URL on Desktop or in Browser
Managed Bookmarks is already in use with favourites URL dedicated to everyone in the organization.
And you cant apply one more Policy with Managed bookmarks GPO with different favourites URL:s for a specific user group.
So I´m trying to do some workaround with GPO preferences and shortcuts.

But it does not working:
1 I´ve created 001A-test1 policy
2. Linked to OU with some user in that OU

  1. The user1 is in OU A-Test1
    3.1 New shortcut as follow:

Then I Reboot VM in VMware

Logged in as user1

Execute Gpupdate /force

No links or url to https://example.domain.com
Only the Managed Bookmarks is visible (The greyed colored field)
Chrome browser:

Edge Browser:

What could cause the problem?
(No loopback policies is applied).

Note: The policy 001A-test1 policy is applied but no URL/Link is visible

Really appreciate your answer of how to get around Managed Bookmarks and populate some links as favourites
in the webbrowser with a GPO.

    Hello there,

You can configure IE mode with a separate policy for Microsoft Edge. This additional policy allows you to override the IE site list. You can then deploy the pilot site list to a small group of users using this policy.

You can follow this thread for more information https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/set-gp-to-automatically-open-specific-urls-in-edge/377dc2e0-0ab5-4a04-a0e6-73ed39439009

The below thread discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue.
