Hi

In our organization we use hp laptops and desktops with windows 10 that have the Azure virtual desktop client for Windows.
We also have 5 HP T630 thin clients which are supported for use with Azure virtual desktop.

On the laptops en desktops with the azure virtual desktop client installed on, they get when connected to a win10 virtual desktop initially the right keyboard layout and language, NLD-AZERTY in our case.

When we use the Azure virtual desktop client on a t630 thin client, and get connected to a win10 virtual desktop the keyboard layout and language is initially ENG-QWERTY and we have to manually select the correct one on the taskbar and choose NLD - AZERTY. This extra step is to difficult for our users and we would like to have it set to initially NLD-AZERTY like it is on the normal laptops and desktops we have.

The settings on the thin client itself are correct and NLD-AZERTY.

Does anybody have a solution for using AVD on thin client and having the correct keyboard layout and language from te beginning?

    Hi,

Have you contacted HP support and asked if they have updated firmware to address this issue? If not I recommend you open a case with them and/or if there is an update test it on one of the thin clients to see if the issue is resolved. In my experience when thin clients exhibit different behavior/buggy than thick Windows clients the solution is usually updating the thin client.

@Toon Brusten Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

Can you please share which OS is installed on the Thin Clients? Customer shared that the OS is Thin Pro 8, HP.

In case of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, please make sure that the OS is updated with the latest cumulative updates and also has the latest MSRDC application installed, like on the regular PCs.

If you are using the pre-installed AVD client from the device, then you would need to reach out to the HP support as this is a Linux based OS. They would be the right point of contact for this scenario.
