Azure Hybrid Licences for Windows Server Data Center

Can we use Windows Server Standard 8 core licenses (via CSP Software Subscriptions) with the VM that is running Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center version?

I'm afraid not.
Only type of conversion possible is for usage (On-prem to Azure).
Only benefit is, Data Center edition licenses can be used in both Azure and on-prem, while standard license could be used only at one place.

Azure Hybrid Benefit is available to customers who own eligible SQL Server and/or Windows Server licenses with active Software Assurance or the equivalent qualifying subscription licenses.

Windows Server Datacenter edition with Software Assurance
Windows Server Standard Edition with Software Assurance
SQL Server Enterprise Core with Software Assurance
SQL Server Standard Core with Software Assurance
The offer is available in all Azure cloud regions.

Customers eligible for Azure Hybrid Benefit can use this benefit in Azure Dedicated Host (more details in Windows Server and SQL Server sections).

Hello all Thank you - I didn't get the correct answer to my question - In my case we have already purchased Windows Server Standard 8 Core licenses from a Microsoft CSP partner and I have Azure VM running Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center version. If I activate the Azure Hybrid Benefits can I use the licenses I have already purchased?

In simple words, you cannot use standard license for datacenter vm.
