How to change Error List window colors in Visual Studio 2022?

Question

From what I understand the Environment tab Plain Text option is responsible for this window. As you can see in the picture - Item foreground/background options are disabled. Is there any reason for this?
And are there any workarounds? (tried to change manually via .vssettings with no success)

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

There are two possibilities, one is that it cannot be set which means it uses the default settings and cannot be changed, by design. The other is one certain setting affects and makes the text settings aren’t allowed to be set. For example, as you can see the "Size" is not changeable when The "Font" is set to Automatic, here’s the explanation: The environment font.

What can be confirmed is that these settings are not changeable by default(with default VS settings), and in earlier versions of VS(like VS 2019) they cannot be changed too.

No workarounds currently, I'm afraid. You may check if any extensions meet your requirements in VS marketplace or submit a suggestion ticket on our Developer Community.
