CBSnapIn.dll MMC crash on WBAdmin utility for Azure Backup Server

Last night within seconds of completing the RPC online restore points to Azure, my on premise server threw a critical stop error and rebooted itself. When it came back online, the WBAdmin console will not load the Azure Backup MMC. It crashes with this error:

If I click unload and continue, it gives this message:

275194-a20221230-232301.jpg

I have tried to submit a ticket, but I get an error that I don't have permission to submit tickets. I am the only Admin on the Azure account, so I don't see why it wouldn't allow me to submit.

Now the WBAdmin console says "The policy for this server is in a paused state."

Can anyone provide me some direction?

    Hello @Dainon Snow

Thank you for sharing this question on this community space.

I would like to gather the following relevant note related to the azure backup issue being faced so far....

The policy takes effect immediately after the modifications of the parameters, such as retention, schedule, and so on. This is applicable for all new backups taken from the modified policy. However, the pruning of the recovery points (if applicable) according to the new policy takes 24 hours.

Let me know if that give you a clue regarding to this case scenario.

    Looking forward to your feedback,

    Cheers,

Actually, I have just learned that these filtermanager event 3 entries have been going on several times a night during the Azure backup, and have been happening clear back into November when I installed Azure Backup. However, last night there was another error shown several times in the 7:00 hour, approximately 60 minutes before the crash.

What does anyone make of this?

    Thanks,
