How to show only files that aren't hidden in the total size count of the properties tab of a folder

I'm trying to copy folders between two drives I have, and when I go to measure the size of both folders on both drives after copying to check if everything copied correctly, they are always different sizes.

I found out that the hidden files in the background are all sorts of different sizes and it is pretty aggravating as I have to go through every single folder and select the items to get a matching value.

I only care about the items that are present, not hidden items. Is there not a setting in Windows to simply search for those?

I'm searching around, and the only thing I can seem to find is articles stating how to search with all files including hidden files. What about without?

When copying files, Windows hasn't been copying some things over properly, either because the file name is too long or because something malfunctions. This is why I am checking the folder sizes now.

Make no mistake, Windows is not corrupt, and I need constant edit access to the folders so they cannot be zips.

    Hi,

Try robocopy with "/xa:h" or "/xa:sh" options.

    Hi,

Thank you for your question and for reaching out.

I understand that you're having issues looking for 'present' files. Have you checked if the "Hidden files" option is UNTICKED? This helps eliminate the hidden files to show when you're trying to search for files.

To make sure it is unticked, please open File explorer, go to the View tab, select Show and make sure that there is NO CHECK beside "Hidden Items".
