I know this must or should have been answered before, but I have not found how to do it yet.

I have a 192.168.1.xxx local net and a hyper v virtual machine on such a host, say X, 192.168.1.66. The hyper v virtual machine, say Y, has an address with the default switch 00:15:5D:01:44:01 and172.27.241.130. How can I set this up where Y is pingable, etc. to a computer Z on the local subnet as X. Can I get Y to have an IP4 address on the local subnet?

I think I had a default switch and or an ethernet hardware problem in a crazy state. I set up a new external switch with "Allow management operating system to share this adapter" checked, and after a shutdown and power cycle, I get a local dhcp address for virtual machine and hostname recognition in ping.

Oddly, I think I managed to delete default switch as it is completely greyed out.
