I lost my phone where I was logged into my microsoft authenticator account and don't know my password. Now I can´t recover the password because it asks me for the two step verification that includes the microsoft authenticator, neither can I enter my school's Teams account, because it's the same account that I don't know my password.
Can´t I try using a different process?
I tried to sign in microsoft authenticator's account using my phone number, but it says it's not correct. I put in the portugal area code and my phone number, and it keeps giving me an error. Don't know what else to do, I really do need to enter my Teams account and I can´t because of the microsoft authenticator.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting the question to the Q&A forum.

Can you access your account via the browser right now? If yes, you can follow the instructions below to set the Authenticator app on your new device:

    1. Go to Security & Privacy page > choose Additional security verification > Update my phone numbers used for account security.
    2. After that it will open a new window. You will see your Phone is listed and you can choose Delete.
    3. Choose Set up Authenticator app and it will open a pop-up box with QR code so that you can configure the app on your new device.

If you cannot access your account via browser, please contact your Office 365 admin and disable MFA for you and remove the lost device. After that, enable MFA so that you can configure the Authenticator app again on the new device.
