C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver missing FaceDriver folder

Long story short I followed some online recommendations and removed the Windows Hello Face feature. I am now missing the FaceDriver folder (in C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver) in which I should find a file HelloFace.inf

When I go Settings/Apps/Optional Features and click on View Features, Windows Hello Face is not there.

When I go Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options, then Facial Recognition and click the SetUp button, the camera comes up but there is no Finish button.

Microsoft Surface with Windows11

Thanks in advance.
Martin

    Hi, me again,

I rebooted a bunch of times before posting this. I just rebooted yet again and this time guess what, it worked.

I was able to set up the face recognition (Settings/Accounts/Sign-in option/Facial Recognition then Set Up button); the camera came on and this time, there were lines in the picture following my moves, then it stopped, I was able to close the window and I'm set up for Windows Hello Facial Recognition.

In prior attempts, the camera came on and stayed on until I had to cancel since it just stayed on (was not reading my facial features).

Still, I checked to see if I finally had a FaceDriver folder and I still don't have one... but it works now and I'll leave it at that for now.

    Thanks folks,
    Martin

I recommend you to install Windows Hello Face drivers from Microsoft website, see if it helps:
