Update prestaged packages

Question

hello,
I was wondering if they were any possibility to get the revision of the prestage package so I could "update" it for an automation process.
As we are trying the prestage content way to distribute packages it would be very useful to be able to check if the packages created have to be updated to avoid revision conflict version.
So my question is how can I manage that case? How to update prestaged applications?
