We have a Windows 2019 server that was running over wifi using a google wifi extender and everyone could access it through their wifi networked computers. we just got ethernet installed and now the server won't connect directly to the switch. it still has to go through google wifi to access the server files. it is a simple files server and honestly, it should just hook right into the wall. the only thing that has changed is it is not connected wirelessly anymore. thank you in advance

Check your DHCP range. My server event viewer said my IP had no available addresses. Enlarged the scope and it fixed it.

Thank you for your reply and I checked that too and double-checked it after your suggestion. still won't allow anyone to access it through the LAN

Sorry I am on Alaska time. I know about the dual adapter being plug in. I tried with just the one wall plug to switch room but it still says unidentified network and it can’t revcive an ip address. The NIC1 is our Wi-Fi that we can only access through.

NIC1 connects to and receives an address from the DHCP server 192.168.86.1 (assume this is a router)

in the long run, we were in a bullding that didn't have hardwired network IE wall ports. so we were just using drop line wifi to access our server with labtops. we just upgraded to having hardware ethernet, desktops, and a communication room that everything runs into for internet access. everything connects flawlessly except our server. it is only access able via wifi and when we hardline it in to the wall it gets an unidentified network problem.
Correct NIC 1 does receive an address through a google wifi extender and by connecting to wifi we can access the server but it will not get an IP address just by plugging it into the wall.
You can force the network profile as shown above. You may have better luck by standing up your own local DNS server, or better yet a domain controller.

I came into this years down the road after being set up so i think ill just start from scratch that way i know all the settings. Thanks for you help
Ok, well it sounds like there may not be a DHCP server on that network.
