Hello, Is there any way to allow non-admins to use the "Sync Now" button in the time settings in Windows?

I have the same question. When logged in as an admin, the sync button works. But when a normal user clicks the sync button, it immediately says Time synchronisation failed. Its also syncing to time.windows.com.

On this moment we are having some time sync problems with multiple Intune computers, where the time is a couple minutes off. We would like to get it solved someway.

I have the same problem. It is worth to add that the modification of "Local Group Policy" in the branch:
Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / User Rights Assignment / Change the system time and adding Users or Everyone does not change anything. After this I am able to change the time but the manual synchronization still does not work.

I have the same question. I don't understand why you need to have admin privileges to sync the time. The time syncing is working fine. But when we transfer from winter to summer time or vise-versa then, sometimes on some W10/W11 laptops/surfaces, the time isn't automatically synced. Pushing the sync now button is often, when there isn't any other problem, enough to change te time. But for that, the user needs to ask an admin.

I have the same issue. I have users with stand alone laptops, on which they do not have admin rights.

If they haven't been used for some time the time might not be correct. Some sites give you an error when you try to log in with the wrong time.

WHY (!) would you need Admin rights for something that's going to be changed anyway within a few days, but you need it NOW.

The users don't want to change anything, they only want to force something to be right, as it was intended.

Try using a different internet time server if you have access, like Google's time1.google.com. Open Control Panel > Clock and Region > Date and Time > Internet Time tab > Change settings...

The users are not admins and cannot change their time settings. I would like the users to be able to use the "Sync Now" button to get their clock synced, that is all.

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue on all my Intune-managed devices. Standard users are unable to run time synchronization, as it always prompts for admin rights. Is there any way for a standard user to run the time sync without requiring admin privileges? Please help
