- No they don't modify your system other than for Visual Studio
- Yes these packages are safe
- Blend is safe also, used to create XMAL interfaces
Microsoft Visual Studio Setup - Packages and Components
I was installing Microsoft Visual Studio, since I would really like to create some C# programs. But, when I was in the selection menu (where I select something like Python Development, .Net Desktop Development, and all that), I saw some weird components like InteliCode from the other side, and even when hovering on them, I still had no idea what most of these even mean. I was getting a bit scared since I was thinking these settings may modify my system or add inconvinient features, so then I watched videos online. I saw this app would even require a total amount 401 packages to be installed, and have really weird names, like Microsoft.Devenv. I got really scared so I had to cancel the installation.
So I have got a question about this. Are all these features from the left menu and packages that Visual Studio installs are safe? Do these actually modify my system or something? And what is Blend for Visual Studio app that gets installed with Visual Studio?
