I purchased a new phone, Microsoft support on the phone told me to delete my authenticator app on my old phone in order to update on the new phone. I did that and could not get any authentications. Next Microsoft person told me I should not have been given that direction. My Microsoft sent me to my hospital IT dept. They helped, however, I now only have my hospital account in the authenticator. I also had Amazon. I have had days of emails and phone calls with Amazon - they have now said that they have disabled MFA requirement for my account, however, when I try to log in, it is still asking for an Authenticator code, which I cannot generate. They told me to reach out to Microsoft again, as now Amazon also cannot log into my account as they are asked for an Authenticator code.
Please let me know how to either add Amazon without being able to obtain a QR code or code from Amazon, as they say they cannot do that - or how to maybe do get in,

I have done all of that, and spent an hour on the phone with Amazon - this will not help me, they referred me to Microsoft, and this was the only way I could find to request help.

I have the same exact problem accept my I cloud restored all my toher code generators ACCEPT for my Amazon 2FA generator. Amazon Customer service says they have disabled my 2FA but when I try to login after my I input my password it still askes me for the code from the Microsoft Authenticator App. Amazon basically said I need to make a new amazon account. but I cant do that without a new phone number. THIS IS NUTS

The authenticator app is nothing more than a code generator. The two-factor can only be turned on or off at service provider (amazon) Amazon is your only hope of recovery. I'd suggest following along here to upload an identity document to amazon, then wait out the two days for recovery.
