Local Account is now a Guest Account

Question

Hi all

my local Account in Windows 11 ist now a Guest Account and i cant change it. If I change to my Microsoft Account then is my Microsoft Account a Guest Account.

Cant Reset Win 11 because it is a Guest Account

Hello there,

Try enabling the Built-in admin account. To enable a built-in administrator account:

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. Type lusrmgr.msc and click OK to open Local Users and Groups. Next, select the Users folder in the left pane. In the right pane, right-click on the Administrator user account and select Edit. In the General tab, uncheck an Account is a disabled option. Click Apply and OK to save the changes. Close Local Users and Groups snap-in and log in to the administrator account from the login screen.

After System Restore (Windows Update - Advanced options - Recovery - Advanced startup - Restart now) I am still Guest User.

Try to boot into Safe mode.

Open Command Prompt and either disable or enable as required:

net user <username> /active:no

net user <username> /active:yes

I am having this exact same issue. I think it started in January. Just put two and two together to realize that the only account on my computer is now a guest account!? I can't change anything because I'm a guest.
