i tried adding and even looking for a namespace called Microsoft.Reporting.Webforms in both assemblies and COM to no avail.
options for generating report from ssrs
hi we run 2016 enterprise. i am trying to follow links like https://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/generate-ssrs-reports-from-a-ssis-package and https://www.codeproject.com/articles/675762/call-ssrs-reports-by-using-csharp to render a report from my package. in one link i see instructions to add a reference to a service but when i go down that road i see no option for the service (ReportExecutionService) referenced in that article. if i go down another road, i dont know which namespace to add to the script so rptviewer is known, but even if i find it, i'm not sure this is the path i want to follow if other authors are saying to add a reference to a service instead. my report is deployed to the server you see below. i did this years ago and dont believe i needed to add a reference to a service at that time.

2020-10-03T16:18:23.963+00:00 ....and i'm lookin at this solution which appears to add byte by byte in a loop after rendering. at least the namespaces i have seem to allow for this solution. i may try to translate this to c# and see how it goes.

2020-10-03T18:23:20.033+00:00 ...and i got past that problem, will try running this now.
not sure about the credentials attributes.
I'm guessing this overall approach is an older way of doing this from before the time the service mentioned earlier was available. and who knows why i couldnt get the report viewer approach to work, ie why the namespac its supposed to be in seemingly isnt available in my list of .net and COM items.
