Hi,

Currently reviewing options to remediate a classic VM used in production from the 1st March retirement.

Currently have a single classic VM, network and storage within a single resource group, with the idea of creation a new ARM VM in the same resource group to cutover to for the short term.

Therefore the question I have is, would this work? Creating a new ARM VM in the same resource group, prepping the services used on it whilst ensuring it could continue to use the same classic storage as the previous classic VM did for files?

Why not just migrate all of these resources to ARM? For a single VM this is likely to be a very straightforward process and probably without any downtime for you.

Please review the process below. You can perform the validation without making any changes and it will tell you if the migration is possible or if you have to make any changes first.
