Hi All,

We have have three servers at our disposal and we are in the process of configuring two of these servers in a production environement with HA groups across the databases and the 3rd server will be at a different site acting as a DR server however this will be part of the HA group as we are going away from doing log shipping.

The question that I have is will an SQL enterprise license cover all three servers in this configuration or would it be better to rather go with three standard licenses?

    Hi @Willie Neethling

As far as I am concerned, one license for one instance.

For detailed information about the license issue, you can call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. Or you can go to Volume Licensing Service Center support. Please choose region/language and choose to call or have web.

    Best regards,

    Cosmog Hong
