Hi All,
I have installed MS SQL 2008 Express R2 in the Windows 11 Laptop. Installation has successfully completed. But when I try to open SQL server management studio, it is not opening. Can anyone give solution to sort out this issue.
Please note that I can open SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, SQL Server Configuration Manager and Reporting Services Configuration Manager without any issue.
Kindly tell me how to open MS SQL 2008 Express R2 - Management Studio in windows 11 machine.

MS SQL 2008 Express R2 - Management Studio
SQL Server 2008 R2 and SSMS of the version are out-of-support since a very long time, and especially not on Win 11.
Use the latest SSMS version from

As experts answered above, try install the latest version SSMS 18.12.1.
You could also try the Repair when you uninstall SQL Server Management Studio.
