Returning Guest Accounts with SharePoint People Search / Microsoft Search

Question

We import external accounts to be listed as contacts. This works for the Global Address book in Exchange / Outlook. However these are not return in People search (not in SP Online search center nore in Microsoft Search). Even if we disable the "Hide from address list" option. The guest account is present in the SharePoint profile store.

With SharePoint online we were able to achieve this by importing these users in the user profile store.

Can this be done? I have been fiddling around with this for days now. This article describes how to hide normal users [https://vladilen.com/sharepoint/hide-non-personal-account-from-microsoft-365-search/ . If been looking at the setting(s) described to achieve my goal, however with no result.

Per my test, people search in search center is weird and I have not found any official article to explain it in detail. So I would suggest you to New service request in Microsoft 365 admin center to get better help.
