Hello, @Thiessen, Marcelo ! Did you create a VM within the last hour before the sandbox expired? If not, you'll need to recreate the VM from lesson 3. If so, please start a new thread so we can troubleshoot this.

Where am I seeing this?

Learning Path: Describe Azure architecture and services

Module: Describe Azure compute and networking services

Unit: 9 - Exercise - Configure network access

Why am I receiving a curl: (3) URL using bad/illegal format or missing URL error?
If it's been more than an hour since you completed the prerequisite, Unit 3 - Exercise - Create an Azure Virtual Machine, your VM will have been automatically deleted and you'll get a curl: (3) URL using bad/illegal format or missing URL error on Task 1, Step 2. Complete the prerequisite to create a virtual machine in Unit 3, and then complete this unit before an hour is up.

Complete the prerequisite less than an hour before working on this unit so that your VM isn't automatically deleted

@kobulloc-MSFT Hello. I appreciate your response and explanation for all of us to learn and have confidence in the training material and resources. Thank you!

However I am experience the same problem too and I was certain to create a (precondition) VM before moving to this exercises as the training documentation suggested. In fact, when I perform az vm list, it returns the JSON data and still shows a VM up and running. Also, on the Azure portal side, the the Resources Group details are there ass well.

Can you please provide some additional details or instructions I can try? :)

No worries, @Mr BCut! For the issue you are experiencing, I would create a new thread so we can take another look at this. My most immediate thought is to confirm that the VM was created in the correct subscription/resource group but something else may be going on that's worth investigating.
