Hi all! I've just created a free azure account to build my homelab and get some experience in IT. I don't understand if the trial during only 30 days or for 12 months, because for now I have only 2 azure virtual machine, one with win server and another one with win10. I have to remove my debit card details till the end of this 30 days or I just can leave them on my information account and then continue to use the virtual machine that I've created, for 12 months?

    Hello

As per below document one B1s VM (windows and Linux) each is free for 750 hours or 12 months whichever occurs first

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/pricing/free-services/

When creating the free VMs you have to ensure you choose the image size and OS disc size that meets the free criteria as mentioned below.

    • You will start seeing charges when any one of the below scenario occurs:
    • You will start seeing charges when any one of the below scenario occurs:
    • Exhausted 750 free hours of free usage.
    • Instance image size and OS disc size does not meet the above free criteria.

So, in other words, your free trial account will end either by 30 days or when 200$ is exhausted. Thats when you might have to upgrade to Pay-As -You-Go account.

    Regards,

    Divya.

    Hi,

At the end of the first 30 days the $200 credit expires and your account will be disabled if you don't switch to Pay-As-You-Go. For the next 11 months if you only use services that are part of the free tier you should have minimal or no charges.

Please see below for list of free services:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/free-account-faq/#free-services

In order for your virtual machine to be free it needs to be the B1S size mentioned in above free services list, with its attached managed disk size on the free list, you use less than the free bandwidth amount, etc.

Please click Accept Answer if the above is useful.

    Thanks.

Ok thanks! And for 30 days I can use only the free options for the virtual machines or I can use for example virtual machine with 8GB of RAM and other specifics?
