Does my computer need to be linked to one drive?

I have multiple files and short cuts with a red circle with an X I understand it means I am out of sync with my one drive but I do not want to save all files in the one drive and want to just have my computer not linked to an online/cloud based service.

Thanks

    Hi @Flagg, Joe@CALFIRE

Does my computer need to be linked to one drive?

If you do not want to sync files to OneDrive, you can unlink OneDrive.

    1. Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon then Settings.)
    2. Go to the Account tab.
    3. Select Unlink this PC.

Besides, if you enabled "Files On-Demand" feature before, please remember to right-click a file or folder with the icon of white cloud, select Always keep on this device first.
