ASPNET Account

Question

Hello guys, basically my mrs whenever she click on something that needs admin access it comes up with desktop name/ASPNET

Any ideas how to fix this i cant fix this in control panel either and cant do a reset due to asking for password for the ASPNET it will say my mrs name and asks for a password but underneath password it says desktop name/ASPNET

Without understanding the whole context, I am of the suspicion that you have logged in with a users [desktopmachinename/aspnet] being a username on the machine. if this user doesn't have rights to make any changes (like admin rights), the machine will challenge you for the login details.

Have you tried to switch user logins.

option 1 : Press the win Key + L. This will take you to the login screen. you can try to re loging

option 2 : Right click on the task bar (not on any icon) click on Task Manager. then select Users tab which will list all the users on the system. You will have a sign out or switch user button. click on switch users and follow on screen procedures.

option 3 : Press on Ctrl-Alt-Del then click on switch user and follow on screen

What you mentioned should be the ASP.NET computer account, you can try to delete it manually through the control panel.

1. Click on the “Start Menu” button in the bottom left corner and select “Control Panel“.
2. Click on “User Accounts” and select “Manage another account“.
3. Click on the “ASP.Net Machine” Account and click on the “Delete this Account” option.
4. Click on the “Delete Files” option and select the “Delete Account” button.
