Looks like a new feature in Teams was added that helps with this problem. In Settings / Devices disable "Sync device buttons".
IMPORTANT: If it is disabled and it still doesn't work, enable the setting, and then disable.

When using teams on a PC with a Shokz device connected (openrun), there is very anoying bip that can be heard all the time when muted.
This wasn't the case a few months ago. Something has changed in Teams for windows. Workarounds mentioned elsewhere do not work.
The only workaround I found is to join the conference by phone (either only by phone or use the phone for audio and the computer for image). Indeed the bip issue does NOT happen when using the Teams for Android. go figure microsoft programming...

Same issue with the loud beeping in my ear when on a Teams meeting and muting the Aeroshokz headset. Please fix this.
Hi @Nicolas MOUTE
Please note that this device is not currently listed in Microsoft Teams certified devices.
As far as I know, many users are currently reporting this issue. After the information I gathered, there is a workaround similar to that in the thread, just for reference.
A workaround seems to be not using the regular mute button in Teams but instead use the small microphone button in the device settings of the meeting. "Mute on" and after a few seconds "Mute off". No more beeping afterwards.
Thanks for your understanding.
