So early in the say while using my laptop I noticed I was running out of space and needed more,the biggest space hugger was my vhd so obviously I tried to do something about it sadly I saw compressing and thought is would work(it didn't) so I was like that's fine I'll just de compress it since I couldn't enter the file but every time I tried it kept freezing when I said OK/apply(not everything just the advance attributes tab) my vhd is 318gigs big whilst my HD is only 2gigs Pls help I'm Actually getting so annoyed

Be sure to detach it first.
then use diskpart to compact it.

Looks like you have run out of space. Compressing it might have been fatal. Your only hope may be to somehow move it to a larger disk.

Hey, I followed your answer and am getting this error, what to do?
DiskPart has encountered an error: The requested operation could not be completed due to a virtual disk system limitation. Virtual hard disk files must be uncompressed and unencrypted and must not be sparse.
See the System Event Log for more information.
I compressed my disk and now am not able to uncompress it. vhdx could not be mounted with this error.
When I try to decompress it from UI I get this error.
Please help

sadly no my vhd wasn't made with hyper so It cant be edit and I also cant access it because its compacted I want to reverse the edit the compacting effect.
