Any advice on Facial API settings for comparing a real-time image with a 'picture within a picture'?

Does anyone have experience using Azure Facial API where comparing a real-time image (data 1) with a 'picture within a picture' (data2)?
ie. comparing in-app taken image against the picture of govt photo ID
I welcome any advice re throttling API settings for meaningful confidence. What at what threshold in these circumstances before the comparison confidence is meaningless?

Yes, the Azure Face API can be used to compare a real-time image with a picture within a picture. The API provides algorithms for face detection and recognition, including the Verification API which can be used to compare two faces and determine if they belong to the same person.
As for throttling settings, the API has a default rate limit of 20 transactions per second, but this can be increased by contacting Azure support. The confidence threshold for the comparison will depend on your specific use case and the quality of the images being compared. It's recommended to experiment with different confidence thresholds to determine the optimal setting for your application.

Currently, we use Verification but have had to wind down confidence to a questionable 35% on a real-time image vs 'pic of an ID pic', and even that is problematic in a more scaled automated expectation.
Has anyone seen work-arounds using Facial API toward this scenario using ID image comparisons? For example, possibly requesting the user take a zoomed-in pic of their ID photo. Or, does using landscape (vs Portrait) drastically improve Facial's quality of comparison (raised confidence %)?
Can I find direct support with this issue in MS Support (paid)?
