The cheapest plan for adding your computers to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is the Azure AD Basic plan. This plan includes the following features:

    • User and group management: Create, manage, and delete users and groups, and manage group membership.
    • Authentication and access control: Control access to cloud and on-premises resources, and authenticate users with multi-factor authentication (MFA).
    • Device management: Join devices to Azure AD and manage them with conditional access policies.
    • Application management: Control access to cloud and on-premises applications, and enable single sign-on (SSO) for users.
    • Self-service password reset: Allow users to reset their own passwords without the need for IT assistance.

Azure AD Basic costs $1 per user per month, and allows up to 50,000 objects. It provides the basic features of Azure AD and it's suitable for small to medium size businesses.

It's important to note that if you want to use the device management features to join your computers to Azure AD, you'll need to have a Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise or Education edition device, and you need to run the Azure AD Join process on each device.

Also, you may consider looking into the free version of Azure AD which is called Azure AD Free that provides some basic features like user and group management, Authentication and access control, device management.

It's always recommended to check the different pricing plans and features that Azure AD offers to ensure that you are selecting the best one that fits your organization's needs.

    Hello,

I'm not aware of there being a licensing requirement for joing your device to Azure AD, but if you want to manage it with Intune you will need one of the licesnes listed on:

    Microsoft Intune licensing

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/licenses

    • Microsoft 365 E5
    • Microsoft 365 E3
    • Enterprise Mobility + Security E5
    • Enterprise Mobility + Security E3
    • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
    • Microsoft 365 F1
    • Microsoft 365 F3
    • Microsoft 365 Government G5
    • Microsoft 365 Government G3
    • Intune for Education

    Hi MOD Administrator ,

If you just want just basic Azure AD join for your computers, a regular Azure AD or Office 365 subscription is all you need. You can use an existing subscription or set up a new one.

That said, if you want to do anything beyond just joining, you will need additional licenses for Endpoint Management/Intune.

Business Premium includes Azure AD Premium P1 and offers licenses for Intune and Windows 10 Business.

Microsoft 365 E3 also includes Endpoint Management/Intune as well as Windows 10 Enterprise licenses for Win10 desktops.

If you have questions about your specific pricing scenario, I would recommend reaching out to your licensing representative of choice. It's free to talk with the Billing/Subscription and Sales teams. [https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/contact/

    Hello there,

Windows Home is not able to perform Azure AD Join, but Windows Professional or Enterprise can join the Azure AD.

The license optimizer finds the best license combination for your requirements.

You can join devices directly to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) without the need to join to on-premises Active Directory while keeping your users productive and secure. Azure AD join is enterprise-ready for both at-scale and scoped deployments. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/devices/azureadjoin-plan.

The pricing for Microsoft Azure AD starts at $6.0 per user per month. Microsoft Azure AD has 2 different plans: Premium P1 at $6.00 per user per month. Premium P2 at $9.00 per user per month.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
