does Windows copied Image has performance decrease?

2023-01-21T11:26:00.3866667+00:00

I Have transferred many Windows Computers from HDD to SSD. I always copy the Windows' Image from old disk to new one using Clonezilla or some other Disk Image copier software , but Recently When I upgrade my old SSD to a new one with bigger space, Windows performance decrease noticeably.

I have done many advice from difference sources like the SSD's Manufacturer (Lexar) and the https://winraid.level1techs.com/ ; The single advice I didn't done yet, Is to format the SSD and Install a fresh Windows. My question is why they advise this, and what is different between a fresh Windows Installation and a copied Windows in context of disk speed?

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to Windows performance on Cloned disk,

If the HDD is sluggish and unreliable, has experienced multiple OS upgrades throughout its life (for example, from Windows Vista to Windows 7 to Windows 8 to Windows 10), all user files have been duly backed up, and/or all crucial apps can be reinstalled, I would then suggest perform a clean OS instal on the SSD.

    Hello,

A nice summary of what the difference between a current and clean version of Windows is:

A clean install of Windows 10 helps declutter the computer, frees up space, and eliminates performance and speed issues. It also helps remove viruses, Trojans, malware and bloatware from the system, and eliminates system problems like blue screen errors.

You can download Windows 10 at:
