We are Using Config Manager 2207 and see Primary Users font driver host\umfd-0, umfd-1, etc for every machine. The issue seems to have been resolved in Update rollup for System Center Configuration Manager current branch, version 1702, but we are using version 2207. How can this be resolved?

    Hi @Allison Lehmann

    Thanks for you feedback!

We have done some research on this issue. By default, Configuration Manager will read data about user logon events from the Windows event log and determine who is the primary user. Typically, driver host\umfd-0, umfd-1 are excluded. Therefore, it seems a SCCM bug.

To resolve this problem better, we want to collect the OS version of the client that is experiencing the problem. We will feedback it to the product team and recommend you submit your feedback to the feedback website at the same time. I will be sharing for you If there is any feedback. We are taking the customer experience very seriously and thank you for your time and understanding.

    Best regards,
    Cherry

Have you confirmed that the data is not stale data?

This article will help with troubleshooting. https://www.recastsoftware.com/resources/how-to-query-asset-intelligence-for-top-console-user-details/

When I checked the WMI entries locally on a machine with the value shows just the correct user log in information. So that leads me to believe that maybe these values (font driver host\umfd-0,font driver host\umfd-1,font driver host\umfd-2) are coming from elsewhere. These machines are in a new config manager environment, and before the client is installed show no primary console user information. As they come in the new site with the new client they are showing the bad data. I don't have direct access to the SCCM database, so am not sure if the information is there. Thank you for your reply.

Where are you seeing the primary user data? E.g. Report or console. Did you review the logs listed within the article? Did they show any errors?

I see the entries in the console under the column Primary User(s). The machines are all Windows 10, and a mix of 20H2 and 21H2, from what I see so far. We are in the process of migrating to 22H2, not sure if any of these machines are 22H2, but I am running a report to see the exact the versions of all machines.
Over 100 machines now show entries including entries such as: font driver host\umfd-0,font driver host\umfd-1,font driver host\umfd-2,font driver host\umfd-3
It is collecting the correct user information too though since some machines show correct TopConsoleUser as well as the umfd-x values.
The log files are showing success:
    Successfully executed SELECT * FROM SMS_SystemConsoleUser query AssetAdvisor 1/24/2023 5:06:31 PM 8520 (0x2148)

    Successfully Completed Inventory for SMS_SystemConsoleUsage AssetAdvisor 1/24/2023 5:06:46 PM 8520 (0x2148)

    Thanks again for your help!
